I was listening to the Spanish language version of the Dollop, and something that surprised me in the Trump episode was that the hosts compared Trump to "AMLO, Bolsonaro, and Erdogan". To my knowledge, on of those things is not like the others.
I don't know much about AMLO's exact politics, but I'd heard he was a pretty solid socdem and better for workers than many who had come before. I'd also heard from the English Dollop hosts that the hosts of this podcast were solidly left wing, so I'm curious where the discrepancy comes from. Is AMLO bad actually? Are the hosts just libs? Both?
I have relatives who hate him for absolute lib shit, like not being a product of elite Mexican society. They are the kind who think someone like Pete Butt has a great story cause he is the son of academics, went to Harvard and then spent time at McKinsey. Its not like my family is even close to middle class (most of my family is poor) but its the way they have come to see politics. They also see him like an Hugo Chavez, even though he isn't at all like Chavez (in this case, the image of Chavez for them has been shaped by neolib propaganda)
