Heck ya! I also like a few drops of sriracha on there. Or some black pepper! And, if you're in the mood, a pinch of salt.
I do the butter and sugar combo so I dunno, mayo is fine I guess
Sugar?! To turn an avocado... sweet?? Veery intriguing. I'll have to give it a go.
Ahh, I see! Haha. I used to eat that a lot growing up, but with a touch of cinnamon :)
Yeah the cinnamon can be a nice touch sometimes, another classic is sugar and cinnamon for crepes and pancakes
One of the houses I lived at as a kid in the past used to have an avocado tree, but I never liked avocados so. My family ended up being gentrified out of that house anyway and the landlord ended up being an international KKK member so yeah, no good memories associated with avocados for me
It was actually the nicest place I've ever lived in, but yeah the landlord really ruined it, along with the local property developers and their gentrification plans.
Vegemite and avocado on toast is as close to heaven as can exist in this material realm.
I’ve never respected the Australians who spread it on with a trowel - they treat it merely as an affect. The only moderation I support is moderation in vegemite toast spreads. It’s almost the exact center between a little and a lot.
Never thought of putting butter on, since avocado is so fatty already it seems like it might be redundant but I’d be willing to give it a try.
Put an egg on it tho and buddy you got breakfast.
I'm a non-home owning millennial and I've never tried avocado toast, yes, we exist.
avocado is nature's butter.
but you need to level up. hear me out: everything bagel, half an avocado, sliced tomato, s&p, drizzle sriracha. I call it the AvoMato Bagel or breakfast pizza
Avocado and tomato? That's the millennia equivalent of owning a summer home too
i thought avocado toast was a meme
people are really just spreading a ~£1 each fruit on toast?
What else would you do with it?
dunno, i don't really eat it, the only thing i ever used it for myself was guacamole
Also, avocado is wildly over-priced if you live outside California. Most of my friends give away hundreds of them during avocado season and stores sell them 5 for a dollar.
makes sense
capitalism is so efficient, truly the invisible hand of the fremen market is a wonder, with its swift response to the issue of supply and demand.
the avocado must flow
You can get 12 of them for a dollar in central California.
It's actually not that bad. I've done it a few times. Toast and ricotta cheese is much better to me though
It's actually delicious! Whole grain wheat bread, cream cheese, avocado, egg, and pesto is my go-to
Avocado toast is great and is probably one of the better breakfasts that you can make for yourself at home, and if you ever drive through central California you can get like 12 avocados for a dollar (they only cost so much because they go bad quickly so grocery store logistics are complicated).
Although the best avocado toast is on like grilled bread or like pan seared with a splash of olive oil.
