My neighbor goes on meth benders and sometimes sounds like he’s hitting his mom and/or breaking the fuck out of shit in their apartment. This morning I heard the mom crying and I’ve never felt so fucking useless..
I ain’t calling cops cuz lord knows they’ll shoot his ass or arrest him and make shit worse. And I can’t go in cuz like, it’s dangerous as fuck to intervene.
In a normal fucking country I could call mental health services and count on shit not escalating. Fuck.
Yeah, thia is rough. If it helps ease your distress you can call the cops. They probably won't do anything.
In my area cases like this are sent to the hospital to sober up. They are refered to counclining services. However most people having emotional peoblems like this are not inclided to follow up woth them.
Working in that environment and watching yiur efforts fail to improve things is pretty bleak. Solidarity comrade.
You can provide her some literature about women's shters in the area so that if it cimes to it she knows she has options. That is probably the most positive change you can do in this situation.

There's zero evidence that "mental health services" wouldn't be even more oppressive than cops.

He doesn't deserve to be shot. It is probably the only solution the system has for him though, so the moral math is weird.
No one gets hooked on drugs like that without having been victimized by the system themsleves. Its pretty bleak.
