It's ok my dude. Look at it this way. Getting a swirly for liking a youtube dude is probably helping prevent a parasocial while not really getting in the way of enjoying the content. Backing it up with reading Parenti is good too. Like who you like, as long as it keeps you asking questions and looking for a deeper understanding.
