    Other than conflating the entire userbase here with the serious "tankie" types (the modern strawman to replace SJW, which rarely exists and are mainly nazbol LARPers) is this really a take most people here disagree with? I've seen a lot of condemnation for the undeniably bad aspects of the USSR/China/DPRK, it's just with informed nuance and critically questioning the source of some of the information.

      There isn't a problem with critiquing any state, as long as you aren't doing it in a way that supports the interests of the US.

      It is not "whataboutism" to discuss US human rights abuses, and long history of propaganda when discussing any other state on the planet. As things currently stands, every state on the planet is forced to respond to the US, be it as an ally, or in opposition, and critiquing a state for a bad policy that is a reaction to a worse US one legitimizes the multiple war crimes and crimes against humanity of the US Imperial core.

        yeah but there's no need to so defensive - the comments in the above screenshot don't say anything to the contrary to that. They even clarify that they believe ML != Tankie
