Love and solidarity comrade. I want to be empathetic towards what is obviously a traumatic experience for you, but it's a little extreme to relate a novelty account to that kind of trauma, and then react with the same kind of force/energy or even to conflate the two. I think the rest of us are seeing this as a "mountains out of molehills" kind of situation, and your responses just kept feeding into that.
I hear ya, and I'll take that perspective into account in the future. I myself have been sexually harassed; the experience was terrible, and I'm a big ole cis white guy. I can only imagine that it's worse/compounded if you're part of a marginalized community.
I still don't see the connection between this particular circumstance and that critique of communication dynamics, though, but maybe that's just my ignorance showing. Without a longer discussion in a more conducive forum I'm not sure if I'll be able to get there today.
Thank you for expanding a bit on your perspective, despite the unarguably negative/hostile space. I had a hate/meme train roll up on me on this site previously, and boy does it suck, so I can definitely relate to being on the receiving end of that. I deleted my comments to get away from the negativity at a certain point since having my inbox fill up with it is really unpleasant. I can see that happening to you now, and for real I empathize with you there for sure.
Yeah damn, the lived experience of a gay man would have nothing to connect to there being a funny joke about asking a demographic of people to stop being constantly horny
