    Can someone explain the "vote shaming is settler colonialism thing"? I uhhh... I don't see the connection

        Thanks. I got into a pretty tense argument with my sort of lib friend because I said "I'm not fucking voting for Biden" because A. I live in Washington, this state has a 100% chance of going to Biden anyway and B. Biden is a raging piece of shit who wouldn't even qualify as "harm reduction" if that term even meant anything. And she got super hurt by it because she felt her reproductive rights as a woman were threatened if Biden didn't win and that I just couldn't possibly understand that because I'm a cis man and I just got so stuck trying to be polite and comforting while also trying to explain to her that "Biden isn't going to protect your rights unless politically convenient, he literally rapes women, and above all a vote in a solid blue state literally doesn't fucking matter" while trying not to sound like the world's biggest mansplainer is just... ughh...

        Sorry about that I am just angry and hurt

      I think the idea is that voting can't undo the effects of settler-colonialism - this land was stolen, so vote shaming is a form of pressuring people to vote for a settler as President of this stolen land
