I honestly did not know what I wanted to be. Maybe a vet. That dream crumbled when I was 17 and applied to do a vet nursing degree. In order to get in, I had to be interviewed with two other people. One of them had grown up on a farm and had their father pass down their knowledge on the subject, while I had grown up poor with a family that largely ignored me. Obviously, they chose the one that had grown up on a farm.

That's when I realised that the whole "free to pursue your happiness" thing was bullshit. What you're born into largely dictates your options.

At one point I said I wanted to be the person that delivers the phone books because they only work one day a year...

I wanted to fly F-14s off of aircraft carriers but then my mom told me that I'd have to make my bed every day or I'd get in trouble (in an attempt to get me to make my bed, I was like 8) but that's when I realized that I'd never be able to deal with the dumb rules that I'd have to follow to get to fly cool shit. Then in 7th grade I read the manifesto and realized that I was a communist and now I want to fly MIGs

In university I claimed I wanted to be a biochemist, a neuroscientist, a benevolent pharma researcher... but I never actually cared about jobs or formal education. I just wanted to go on adventures.

    Drugs! Sex! War! Philosophy!

Also I’ve wanted to destroy the Imperial Core since I was five. I was extremely precocious.

A cultural anthropologist. I've always been fascinated by the underlying mechanics of culture and social organisation, the thing that made me a Marxist. The 2008 recession hit around the time I was planning my university studies. Watching that shatter the lives of people who did everything right and especially impact those with humanities degrees made me want to go into medicine instead just for an income base. Then capitalism happened again and the cost of medical school was so high that I opted for nursing before capitalism and the cost of getting to the right level of nursing was so high that I'm a horticulturalist eventually going into ethnobotany.

Basically any school administrator who has ever raised tuition a cent should be parodied in minecraft.

A marine biologist, or maybe an animal trainer for movies. Honestly even as a kid I never wanted a job I just want a way to spend all day playing with animals.
