There isn't a day when you just become socialist, but people like Hedges do offer a sort of deprogramming and process for deconstructing, decolonizing, and dismantling your mind's ideological conception of reality that eventually you look for affirmative values and ideologies on how to view the world, negating the despair inducing "Holden Caufield-esque derision of phoniness" mood.
