Took me years to realize that it's my favorite game in the series, the build potentials are enormous, and weapon selection absolutely ridiculous I love it
It does kinda lag in the middle sections of the game but the later and early parts are so much fun to play, especially with unconventional builds
Of course, I'm only talking about the Scholar of the First Sin version, the original release was definitely an acquired taste
Then you get to Shrine of Amana and realize that the game was made to be hard and frustrating, which puts it at odds with the design philosophy of every other Soulsborne game
I've been playing Dark Souls 2 and I'm impressed on how its not afraid to break from the Soulsborne mold by being a bad game thats frustrating to play

It's probably a lot less frustrating when you've already figured out how to beat it.

All SOTFS did was add an optional boss that can be fought after the vanilla final boss and jam packed it with even more enemies to gank you
