Here's a crazy idea: You only need one house to live in, right? Now sell those two other houses you own without living in them, to the people who actually live in them for like a dollar, and get yourself a fucking job like the rest of us. Dipshit.

    Alternatively: :mao-aggro-shining:

HOW IS THIS EVEN A DISCUSSION??? "Should Louise get a fourth vacation this year, or should Tommy over here get insulin this week?"

THE FACT THAT WE'RE EVEN HAVING THIS "DISCUSSION" IS SO FUCKED.

Never mind the fact the majority of people are thinking "look, Louise has some good points!"

Ms Elliot doesn't work full-time anymore, and says "this is my income".

"We're looking to be able to stand on our own two feet and that means making smart decisions," she said.

[…]Ms Elliot says it should be up to homeowners to decide what to do with their investment properties.

"I'm also not going to sugar-coat it. This is one of those properties where it used to be tenanted and it could be again — but this is a property that we own, so we should be able to make the decisions on how it's used," she said.

"It's not my responsibility to provide housing for others.

"That's where the Government needs to step in and build the social housing, the city council needs to approve the dwellings."

Ah yes welcome to my restaurant, hope you're not hungry because this is one of those restaurants that doesn't serve any fucking food because it isn't our responsibility.

"It’s not my responsibility to provide housing for others."

Someone should tell that landlord that "providing housing" is the justification for the existence of landlords by capitalist logic.

I'm sure she'd be totally cool with the government building the social housing in her neighbourhood

"Landlord Amy Barrett bought an investment property in Hobart's north about a year ago, but instead of evicting the family who already lived there, she decided to keep it as a rental."

"In terms of my morals and ethics, for me it made more sense to actually just rent it."

What the fuck does she do with herself all day? It must just be like brunch, yoga, make sure my permanent forever leech rental properties are tidy and undamaged. Rinse and repeat forever.

Nonsense. She has to count the money, which means she's basically a wage laborer. Why won't you show solidarity, you monster?!

How the fuck does she make $800 a night? The AirBnB I stayed at (I know, but it was cheaper than a hotel for a poor) was like $500 for two weeks and this was in a city. How the fuck is she pulling in $800/night? Surely she's not renting McMansions out?
