Each box would come with a baseball card featuring a communist revolutionary, theorist, or leader.

Why not a series of playing cards with Communist leaders? It would probably be very simple to do if it's just a standard deck of cards, you just need the designs.
If you want to get nutty with it, make a trading card game, give various people different stats. For extra fun, classify them as 'tankie', 'anarchist', 'demsoc' and 'lib', and watch people fight over who should go into each category.
