          I always end up writing about 1/3 of a song then playing that 1/3 for years until I realize that's all it is haha. So I guess I just write really short songs. Good luck with yours!

              That's generally how I am too. It's actually driven me towards ambient music lately, which is nice because it's a good way to learn a little more about mastering. I'm just starting out with that stuff though. It's pretty tough haha.

              Some riffs are just for playing I suppose. That said I finally figured out what to do with something I've been playing since about 2007 as well. Kind of using it as a recurring theme to bridge together some other songs I wrote back then. Kind of a concept album I'll probably never finish.
