Lots of working class comrades including laborers have student debt. Especially minorities, who have high amounts of debts from predatory for profit colleges. This take erases minorities.
Edit: this is as good a place as any to point out how little chapo hosts seem to interact with women and minorities, let alone have them as guests on the show. There's an incredibly high chance the people you mention were already probably voting Democrat. Only 14% of Americans have student debt, but the perception of giving to college attendees and rejecting a $2000 bid to everyone will leave a lasting impression.
i dont think its so much about the number of people with debt as it is how fucking huge the debt amount is right now. i think youre downplaying how much 20k debt relief would mean to most people.
It's par the course for the Democratic party by this point, if anyone's perception is changed by this it just means they weren't paying attention. The Dems will never be our saviours, an independent working class party is an absolute necessity
i dont think anybody is saying they aren't ? a lot of minorities are laborers who don't shell out for college either, al menos en algunas comunidades no se como sea en todas, but this is imo a fine take most workers and most poc workers both mostly dont have student debt, i agree on chapo being just their white male friends for the most part

i worked two jobs to pay my student loan off, i'd be a little mad personally but not at anyone getting the relief.
Democrats will lose the working class for a generation? Have they had them for a generation? Would it even be advantageous for communists for the democrats to have the support of the working class?
