New Dark Age by James Bridle fits the bill. Be warned though, it's very dark. Like serious "wow we are so completely and utterly fucked" vibes. But it is a very well researched and very well written account of how we're drowning in useless information that is only growing and is ultimately dooming ourselves and our world. Ever think about how much death you caused by watching a YouTube video? This book won't let you forget it.
EDIT: Also recommending The Message is Murder by Jonathan Beller, which argues that all modern tech is ultimately a product of capitalist logic and entirely irredeemable. You can never disentangle the computer and the internet from the conditions thst produced it, and that violence is inherent to how these things work.
