An Iwi is a Māori tribal grouping, typically encompassing a regional area.

An Iwi Roadblock is a term used for the recent practice of Māori enacting roadblocks to screen folks and prevent COVID from entering their areas.

The NZ police have worked with Iwi on them, and don’t have an issue with it, but of course Pākehā have to make a huge deal out of it.

Honestly I guarantee that none of them have actually even gone through an Iwi roadblock. They’re mostly out in remote regions.

Ah, so literally just some basic screening to make sure that people aren't bringing in deadly disease to a vulnerable community and white people are calling it 1984. Got it

Just the Māori word for whites.

A good way to flush out racist whites is to call them Pākehā. They take it as an insult every time.

Sounds like a good idea in a pandemic. Restrictions like that should be enacted on a wider scale.

    Oceania

Is that a place in legend of Zelda? Like a water world or something (I don't know, I don't play legend of Zelda)?

Good to see that saying this kind of thing out loud at least seems to have *some * repercussions since I know tons of Pākehā in general think and believe this
