They're just mad that the Wrong Capitalists are doing things. They will very happily slide into fascism to reinforce the Good Capitalists

I have to say though, I like the accidentally-good take that "liberal and conservative is a false distinction"

This is exactly it. "oh no the state protects the capitalists who are breaking all the rules I made up"

I wonder why are you surprised? That’s exactly the attitude of the libertarian right wing, at least at breitbart, which I was looking around after trump victory. Their answer is not democratization of work place, but absence of regulations, but they see the same problems generally. Their thing is that regulation signifies fusion of state and capital, which is bad, and thinking that absence of this connection everything will be fine, and token of this connection is regulations. They either cannot see that this would immediately resolve into monopolies, or are paid to not see it

Their class consciousness only extends to "this current economic arrangement unfairly caters to large, international finance interests and not small business interests" and they have deluded themselves into believing a lack of regulatory apparatuses would somehow be more beneficial to smaller, more local business and not simply replacing the state with a corporation.
