The separate "containment" comm is starting to bring in "accelerationists" who are in every single way similar to capitalists except they say CAPITALISM BAD BUT IF I TAKE PART IT FALL APART.

It's not just your comment. I unsubbed from our wsb comm for my mental health but I still skimmed it a few times and there was that mentality present.

Nah, just purge the posts actually egging people on, encouraging folks to still jump in, or get on $amc or whatever other new thing WSB is fixating on, yaknow, parasite shit, and make it abundantly clear that the comm is about discussion, and discussion only.
Problem was the separate comm pretty much became 90% of the posting on this site. I was in support of it at first but it's pretty much a case study on why containment communities don't work.

You would pretty much have to unsub finance, main, and dunk tank to avoid it....it pops up EVERYWHERE
It wouldn't work that well if they made a post every 10 minutes. It works in that instance because the furry comm makes up a small percentage of the total posts and engagement on the site, unlike the wsb comm.
That's what happens when you delete your account actually. The username remains but it overwrites all your comments and posts with deleted by creator.
I know this because I like to delete my account and start fresh every couple months for opsec purposes.

Person left the site because all the wall street bets stuff and seeing people gamble with probably to them a large amount of money was making their depression worse. That’s what I could get from their posts before they deleted their account.
They also previously talked about being broke and how they didn't have to feel ashamed about that on here, and they probably weren't feeling the same way anymore when seeing people gamble large amounts of money
The memes and coverage can be funny, and it's simultaneously fair of someone to not want to be around it. That's why the separate comm was created, isn't it?
The only thing I've seen about it on other comms in the last couple days are people continuing to complain about it, and to complain about people talking about what is objectively big financial news.

Someone is always going to be alienated by some topic, so this notion that the community should as a rule never alienate anyone is unworkable. The best you can do is create a community that alienates as many of the acceptable targets as possible (nazis, transphobes, etc), and as few others as possible, but that's still going to be a non-zero number. Especially when there are disagreements about topics held in good faith.
