Newly obtained White House records provide fresh details on how senior Obama administration officials used Mitt Romney’s landmark health-care law in Massachusetts as a model for the new federal law, including recruiting some of Romney’s own health care advisers and experts to help craft the act now derided by Republicans as “Obamacare.”

Well, it appears that this just takes the 2000 tax credit per child and scraps it, and just gives people 3000 per year, but paid monthly. It would scrap Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and the state and local tax deduction

Yeah, TANF is bad. This is absolutely despicable that Republican is proposing this and not dems. I will say, there are Mormon communities that have a huge emphasis on mutual aid, and that Romney probably sees the difficult realities of raising a family and is like, then how will Mormons have 8 children, hence this policy.

Still; incredible that he is outflanking dems to their left

3000 per year. In other words $250 per month, or $62 per week. Yeah, real helpful.

Also Romney wants to get rid of existing family support programs:

Unlike Democrats’ plan, Romney’s Family Security Act would be paid for, in part, by eliminating Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, a welfare program, as well as other existing federal tax credits for children and working families. Many Democrats are likely to oppose this part of Romney’s plan

    This is real "encouraging"

White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain reacted to the proposal on Thursday, tweeting: “Really looking forward to see what @SenatorRomney will propose here -- an encouraging sign that bipartisan action to reduce child poverty IS possible.”

    Fucking hell world :agony-deep:

Look, I don't mean to be rude, but this is a bipartisan bill. That means if the democrats do it, then the republicans can't get mad at them or criticize them over it. That's just a fact.

cuts to two weeks from now when Mitch calls this massive failure "Bidencovery" or whatever

Imagine being the Democrats and being so cucked that all of your meaningful legislation comes from the mind palace of Mitt fucking Romney.
