This truly delicious ingredient is an amazing dish condiment. Coming from a specially selected strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae it is a highly nutritious food.
My favorite use is simple:
Spaghetti Squash pasta with olive oil sautéed garlic, bell peppers, onions, summer squash, and tomatoes topped with fresh basil & generous nutritional yeast.
As a vegan, I approve of this post :sankara-salute:
Nooch is very good for making vegan cheese sauces
it was the highest upvoted suggestion on last weeks, the versatility of this is amazing!
Nutritional yeast is so good and it has a ton of B12 that can be difficult to get on a plant-based diet.
Now what the vegoons won’t tell you is that it’s so high in B12 it can turn your urine a bright neon yellow because you’re passing so much excess B12.
Here's a picture of Saccharomyces Cerevisiae magnified thousands of times.
That’s the cool part, is that it’s honestly pretty good for you. Relatively low cal, and good for B12 and protein.
It kicks ass on popcorn too. Best popcorn ever recipe: coconut oil in covered pot on high with two kernels. Once those two pop that means the oil is hot enough to add the rest of the kernels. Once they are all popped squeeze lime juice on them (helps seasoning stick) and add cayenne pepper, salt/pepper, and a bunch of nutritional yeast. You’re welcome !!
Coconut is :haram: but olive oil, black pepper, salt, nutritional yeast is so good on popcorn. We use Aji Amarillo powder instead of cayenne.
To me it tastes like the crumbs at the bottom of a Goldfish or Cheez-its box
