Actually it’s the green new deal and communism.

If the liberals would have just let us burn fossil fuels the way the good lord intended we’d be fine right now.

But all these damn liberals coming here from california and then vote to make Texas just like the place they left!

I had a friend who came from Colorado Springs, a right wing hub, who was taught by his fam to think California was bankrupt and that all of them are were moving to Texas lol. We make fun of libs a lot but Chuds genuinely only inhabit echo chambers.

Yea, It’s the way a lot of the chuds here explain away people adopting more progressive social ideas or scapegoat failures in our systems. Can’t be the unfettered capitalist fuckery we’ve been taught to think that’s good, must be those damn Californians!

I'm with ya, and hopefully it'll really shake people up... But I can also already hear it in my head. 😅

If the mayor of your city calling you a piece of shit on facebook for his neglect of the situation don't make you angry, I dunno what will.

Liquid Snake: Why do you continue to support a country that betrays you?

Solid Snake (libs): I'm following orders!

Liquid Snake: You lie! You enjoy the abuse!!

        Solid Snake: What?

Liquid Snake: I've seen the look on your face, the joy of being a pain piggy!

We have to guide them though. Otherwise they will just blame the windmills

It won't. People don't think electricity and stuff is politics. People think that LGBTQ rights and dunking on trump is politics. Not without education and r.eaching out. And remember - the conditions that radicalise someone to the left are the same that radicalisd them to the right. And going right is a lot easier cause that is the ideas that are readily available...___

Probably I know when taking about it with my dad I told him this a result of climate change. How this shit didn't happen before but this and examples of mud slides from getting rid of trees really got to him.

He at first said yeah well this the result of people doing whatever they want and burning things I steered him in the right direction. People are not the main cause of all of this but corporations and capitalism. He blames the companies now but also the government for not doing anything about it. I told him they one and the same really with how bought up the government is by companies so at least we in the right direction.

Water is off, no power since Sunday super markets are open 3 hours at most lines take 45min carports and buildings starting to collapse from flood damage before water shut off. Now city wide water shortages, and boil warnings. Currently getting all the snow and ice I can to have for spare water.

Polar Vortex did a short squeeze on Texas oil and gas sector, which forced them to either take a loss to continue generating electricity or just shutdown. 76% of generating losses where due to NG power plants.

Naive take. Parties will blame one another, ignorant citizenry will double down on their "side".

Republicans: these empty grocery store shelves are literally communism

Democrats: maybe if you didn’t want to freeze to death you would think twice before doing anything other than voting blue no matter who sweaty !!!

OK, Edgy McBlackpill. Perish the thought that communists/socialists would point out the contradictions of capitalism and seek to make tangible gains from this shitshow.

I've never seen so many people in this state pissed at Greg Abbott.

Not sure this means Communism Is Inevitable, but the whole "Texas Republicans keep the trains running on time" shit is rubbing off fast. Lina Hidalgo's star is rising in a state that would historically recoil at 28-year-old Latina Women who think we should maybe spend money on infrastructure a little.

Do I understand this ERCOT thing? Is it a marketplace to buy and sell electricity run by a public-private partnership? Kind of like obamacare but for electricity?

    • culpritus [any]
      ·

pretty much exactly this, accept it is only for the generation of electricity, not for generating capacity

something like: power plants > ERCOT > utility companies > customers

what is yet to come to light is how many power plants voluntarily shutdown because the spot price for natural gas spiked hard

it's like a just-in-time ONLY market, and the power plants try to ride the price curve for profits

Did Enron open the eyes of non political people to the damages caused by capitalism?
