A lot of the bands I like sell cassettes as the only physical way of owning their material. Is it really cheaper than just making a CD? Or is this just another version of 80's nostalgia?

We're in full late 80's/early 90's nostalgia mode now. The 2010's was 80's nostalgia mostly, though near the end of the decade the 90's nostalgia started becoming more popular. Really not looking forward to (and at the same time really looking forward to) around 2026 onwards when late90's/early 2000s nostalgia will start to enter the mainstream.

Going to be rocking my ancient portable CD player with big fuck off headphones everywhere while playing GTA San Andreas, Burnout 3 and Need For Speed Underground on my PS2

With the new opus file format, encoding and variable bitrate it shouldn't sound that bad compared to an original MP3 from 2000 which would sound absolutely terrible with a whole album at that size.

We’re in full late 80’s/early 90’s nostalgia mode now.

      Why's everybody actin' funny?

      Why's everybody look so strange?

      Why's everybody look so nasty?

What do I want with all these things?

That song is basically my experience of visiting a gas station high af at midnight with my high friends to buy some shit to eat after "the munchies" kicked in.

8.5/10 IGN not enough weird staring at everything

Can't wait in 4 years or so when it'll be topical again for me to complain about Pitchfork's 0.6/10 for The Boy With the Arab Strap.

In the 2000's after decades of declining use vinyl records shot back up again in popularity, motivated by nostalgia and 'authenticity'.

    Everything old is new again
