I've mentioned this before, but as a white person growing up in the US, it's amazing how it's impressed on you that the Panthers were just the mirror image of the KKK, and really really angry on top of it all. Even mainstream movies like Forrest Gump hit on this. They're the "black racists".
Then I get older and learned for myself and I was like, wow, the Panthers were fucking cool and based af. They worked with groups of all races.
