Poop is a symbol of the common people. It’s used to fertilize the soil that bears the crops that feed us, which again results in more poop. It’s an indicator of how well fed we are, how well fed the animals that we have been using for millenia to support out labour are. It has been and is still used as an important building material by the lower classes and its is also used as fuel for fireplaces that keep us warm in the winter.
