I am so fucking grumpy that people believe this shit. I'm a pretty conflict averse person and will mostly just smile and nod at stuff that people say, because I don't want to cause a scene. But if someone starts with the whole "soy bad phytoestrogens bad soyboy feminine bla bla bla", I tend to actually say something. Soy beans are fucking beans, they won't cause you to grow tits, you fucking idiot, and actual mammalian fucking estrogens from like, milk and cheese exist, and those may (probably not though, but who knows, :im-vegan:) perhaps cause actual tit growth. But soy? Fuck off with that fucking shit, it's a damn bean, jesus. It's a fucking bean! What's wrong with you?

Sorry, I get heated about soy. I love the stuff, and for whatever reason :lmayo: just have issues with a goddamn bean, good god, I can't handle it.

  • Wow! I just listened to the Citations Needed about meat and manliness and then here we have, just, the most boring basic-ass fucking wrecker just coming in here and providing a perfect example of what that episode was talking about.

Hey OP: I'm vegan because I think it's exactly the opposite of manly to kill creatures weaker than myself for no reason. That's some weak-ass shit, to kill defenseless creatures just because you like the way their corpses taste.

So, uh, something like that hasn't happened to me in at least 5 years. Have you had such an unfortunate experience more recently than that? Because in my (recent) experience, linux drivers tend to be pretty good (at least recently, and like, research your distro too I guess, arch and slackware won't install shit, but mint and other such user friendly ones usually will.)

I dunno, it just kind of feels like the era of linux being incapable of drivers (which was absolutely an era that existed) is over now, you know?

  • I will never not suggest Pathologic 2. Despite its name, you absolutely do not need to (and in fact, very much shouldn't) play the original Pathologic first.

Other than that, my recommendations are going to be pretty basic and you've probably played a lot of them, but here goes anyway: Hollow Knight, Celeste, Hades, Outer Wilds, Fallout New Vegas, Disco Elysium.

Oh, there's also Inscryption which was good and creepy. That's a little more off the beaten path.

Or perhaps you'd like to get into Dwarf Fortress. I'd be much more willing to suggest this if the Steam release were already out, because it'll have much less of a learning curve at that point, but it's still really fun if you can get past the absolutely obtuse UI.

Oh, and if you never played Goadstool's game (Kor), you really should. Goadstool is a comrade who posts here and Kor is amazing. You probably knew this already though.

I mean, it's all in those three words "biggest stomach issues".

You read it as (biggest stomach) (issues), so like, issues with large stomachs. OP read it as (biggest) (stomach issues), so, you know, like digestive trouble, and a lot of it.

I think those words are definitely a bit ambiguous, but also, I certainly read it in the second way, not the first, and it seems like most people do judging from the comments. I don't think your reading is totally impossible, but I do suspect the author of the tweet meant the other.

(Also, sorry if this is confusing, I'm a bit high. Where's the Stalin bong emoji? I wanted to put it here. Damn.)

  • This is the stupidest fucking argument, oh my god. Here's a similar situation, for comparison.

Right now, as I type, there are concentration camps for migrants on the southern border of the US. I find this morally abhorrent. I'm in the US (as are many of us here, because, unfortunately, the US is the current global hegemon). I have never, not once, seen anyone on hexbear say that I (and the rest of the Americans here) don't actually care about the migrants in camps on our southern border.

But suddenly if a vegan believes paying people to torture and kill animals is wrong, then the only way to prove we care is to do extremely illegal, very dangerous acts of sabotage on factory farms.

That's a pretty massive double standard right there.

Stop paying people to torture and kill animals.

    Go vegan.
