    If these folks want better pay I encourage them to walk on over to the Chinese embassy in DC. There's sure to be plenty there willing to compensate them well for their labour

    On the one hand, some pretty well paying positions are still hugely exploitative due to the nature of the industry and ingrained work cultures. Generally people tend to instinctively scoff at the idea of anyone making over six figures unionizing, but there are legitimate grievances like overwork or poor safety standards that such unions can address.

    On the other hand, fuck these spooks.

    Well, if the CIA is going to be unionized, it would make sense that the union would only exist to performatively ask for things and grift their paychecks
