Pro viewer tip: 99% of internet analysis of Twin Peaks is "wow, cool occultism" rather than examining themes of fem trauma, sexual violence, misogyny, etc. Engage your critical viewing brain for this screamingly obvious subtext that practically no one talks about.

David Lynch is very good at examining the trauma the cold machinery society inflicts on young women without even thinking about it, and is also very good at pointing out the way that all modern "polite society" only exists due to the overwhelming criminality and violence they are constantly committing and shoving on to the less advantaged.

It's a shame that David Lynch has apparently never met a black person in his life because if he had I'm sure you could call his works a critical deconstruction of small town America. As it is it's missing something pretty big though.

I know, right? Eraserhead has a way of doing that to you. I watched it probably fifteen or more years ago and I still remember it very vividly. I don't think I've ever seen any other movie which represents a young man's anxieties more accurately.

I can't tell the difference between Twin Peaks and Neutral Milk Hotel.

I mean, enjoy lol Yes, I love Twin Peaks and am equally obsessed with Lynch. Watch season 3 asap, it's amazing. I think I'm going to rewatch the series now.

Twin Peaks is great, I really like the sequel/prequel movie Fire Walk With Me. Not a big fan of the new season 3 though, at least from what I've seen of it.

Season 2 was made mostly without David Lynch or the original writer. I get the impression most fans hate it.

Yeah Twin Peaks is incredible and so are all his movies. His sound design is excellent and really creative too, once I started paying attention to it I began noticing all sorts of details and subtle strangeness that I think plays a part in creating that uncanny dreaminess of basically all of his work.
