Lib me would've been even more stressed out than I am already lol.
Not to mention shilling super hard for Biden/Harris to "restore muh civility" and all that bullshit.
I always thought Bernie could win the general if he got past the primary and it was actually kind of exciting after Nevada, but the moment they pulled out the rug before super Tuesday I just chuckled.
I don't think they would've ratfucked him in the face of Trump the same way they did to Corbyn, elite perceptions of Trump in the US are far worse than elite perceptions of any possible Tory leader in the UK.
What they would've done is put in absolutely zero effort to take back the Senate, and that would've ratfucked Bernie enough where his presidency would've had no impact whatsoever.
What they would’ve done is put in absolutely zero effort to take back the Senate
The wheels on a lot of Senate campaigns were already in motion, though, and they had been banging the "take back the Senate" drum for years. Maybe party leadership would have liked to pull this off, but they can't coordinate that with the Senate candidates themselves, the donors, or the voters. And of course there would have been everyone supporting Sanders also supporting these Senate races.
The Democratic Party will try to fuck us, but they only have so many tricks they can pull. They don't have perfect coordination and organization.
i’m not necessarily saying they’re trying to lose, but i don’t think they really have any principles or agendas that drive them to actually desire the levers of power
The way I describe it is that Democrats do want to win, but they only want to win if it's on their terms. This explains why they kneecapped the most popular politician in the country running on an incredibly popular policy, but also accounts for the fact that the careerist lanyard caste would prefer jobs in a Biden administration to having to scrounge up other work for the next four years.
It also explains -- especially that second part -- why Democrats can't just tank the Senate if a leftist candidate wins the presidential nomination. The wheels on many Senate campaigns are already in motion by that point, and all the people working on those campaigns (as centrist as they may be) want to win.
You're probably right. They would rather lose the election than lose control of the party.
Listen mack, you got the grillpill mentality 👍 don't forget to read in order to expand your horizons
Im glad that Im enjoying the memes much more this time. "End of the world if Killary or Donald win"<"None of the candidates can draw a clock"
honestly I'm looking forward to the inevitable shitshow of november/december, 2020 is going out with a bang, potentially more literally than some may expect.
lib me was so broken during the election, I genuinely believed hilldawg was the best candidate, it was awful
i mean she kinda was. but it's like saying that getting shot in the face by a pistol is better than getting shot in the face by a shotgun
I can hardly go on Twitter on anymore.
Half of the people I followed who I thought were leftists are retweeting bad takes like "If you don't vote for the rapist/cop combo then you're supporting facism all for some twitter clout."
I dunno, seems to me that the people who switched over are the ones doing it for twitter clout, especially since they're the same people that think a revolution is absolutely impossible.
I kinda stopped caring about 2016 by this point in the cycle. I'm actually in the identical spot; Hillary couldn't possibly lose to Trump, Biden can't possibly lose to Trump. The only thing that remains to be repeated is the surprise.
