The fact that the this coming from the red scare sub made me suspicious unfortunatly makes me the opposite of this guy.

I was unaware that there was age gap discourse for 20-23 year olds. They're both still uni students or just left, their lives and lifestyles aren't going to be that different. Why is this a problem? 25 year old and a 20 year old, yeah, that could be a bit sus depending on the people involved, but a 3 year gap is apparently a problem?

Even that seems silly to me.

Yeah, it depends a lot on how mature the two are and what sort of stage in their life they are. It's more like I could potentially see problems caused by that age gap, but it would probably have a lot more to do with different lifestyles and life goals, and that can happen at any age.

Personally I'd just say it's none of my business and move on with my day.

Banned for starting serious age gap discourse on this post I did NOT want that.

But yes there are extremly online weirdos that would have a problem with 23 and 20.

I think you're fine, it's not like you started it. And I don't think there's any discourse, just confusion about it.

Can someone break the age gap thing down for me? Is it a leftist thing I'm not familiar with?

I get that large age gaps can be weird and dating people below the age of consent is obviously bad, but what's the problem with 23 and 20?

This is like if I started complaining about Eritrean-Somalian-Ethiopian-Djiboutian racism without clarifying it was Xitter nonsense.

Its not necissarily a leftist thing just a very online thing where people police age gaps heavily even when they are both adults.

I know that there is a serious risk of the 23 year old being called a cradle snatcher as a joke, but I don't think that has much do to do with people's actual opinions about 3 year age gaps for 23 year olds and more to do with unhealthy banter culture.

Yeah to take it to an absurd extreme SPACEGHOSTPURPP qt'd someone's couple pic asking if "we were getting with 12 year olds now" (paraphrasing that account is long gone idk), because the woman was shorter than the man. People are often trying to be disgusting for no reason with that shit.

People who have had shitty relationships + people over correcting their own beliefs because they’re scared about having the wrong opinion = angry threads about 3 year age gaps
