The line "Do not, my friends, become addicted to water, it will take ahold of you and you will resent it's abscence" is like the perfect summary of Capitalism brain, it's great.

The whole visual repesentation of Joe's cult in the opening is so well done i havent seen any other movie that does the same

The opening is so unsubtle and and to the point the story telling is so efficient in the movie i love it

It's so rare nowadays that a big budget movie still gives a fuck about basic things like "show, don't tell" or about proper setup and payoff. Watching it was so full of "this is what they took from you" moments.

        The opening is so unsubtle

"My name is Max. My world is fire and blood." Wow okay sweet dude!

It's super cool that it exists, but I couldn't imagine watching it myself, the original film just does so much beautiful shit with it's color palette it's amazing.

Like, how do you go and make a movie about violent BDSM psychos in a post-apocalyptic hellscape that looks more beautiful than any other movie released in the last twenty years?!

Fury Road was just so enjoyable. It's rare to see an action movie that's genuinely good (visuals, pacing, story, everything) and that doesn't make me feel like shit for rooting for the protagonist. Looking at you, "superhero" movies that are all about savagely beating up muggers and whatnot.

I am a massive fan of the old 3. Should I make the effort to watch Fury Road or will it make me upset because its different?

Fury Road is the full realization of what Mad Max was meant to be 30 years ago. You're really missing out.

You've convinced me to give it a try. I struggle accepting modern versions of 'camp' whereas old shit like Clockwork Orange and Mad Max: Beyond the Thunderdome work for me. Full disclosure, I haven't actually seen a full length movie since before Fury Road was released.

that entire movie is so good. I can't even stand it. I'm never watching it again. I showed it to our 11 year old and she was transfixed. Meme lords got into for a while and I'm like no way jose. And then capeshit waved shiny objects and people forgot about MM.

The CGI blends so well with all the practical effects, aside from a few portions that were deliberately over-the-top, like the steering wheel flying toward the camera. The film rewards rewatching it, it moves at breakneck speed so you can't notice all the tiny details in one sitting, have fun!

I saw Fury Road the first time in a shitty small town theater, and its the first movie in my life where I have left the theater feeling noticibly anxious.
