you can be robots that build communism for biological beings, or you can be communists that start biological and upgrade yourself to machines later in the game

If you want to maximise crimes against (possibly humanity) with a slavery focused economic build, take the genetical engineering ascention path.

Not only is it very beneficial and makes the pops easier to control, you can also roleplay as french and make all the lifestock mollusca look like snails.

    Hon hon hon.

I've been playing this for like 10 hours, and I have no idea what's going on, or how to do anything. How do I get into these paradox games?

I haven’t played stellaris yet but I have played ck2, hoi4, and euiv, and honestly most of these paradox games can take months/years of effort to really grasp. But if you have experience in one paradox game it becomes a lot easier to grasp the others because they’re all sort of built on the same concepts.

Follow along with a tutorial or playthrough series for your first few playthroughs, savescum a lot, watch beginner and advanced tips videos, experiment a bit, do a shitton of googling everytime you run into something you don’t understand, etc.

Diversify your fleet, but have a strong preference for missile ships, picket ships should be represented but interceptors are the meat shields in space that let your missiles fly

Also, only build districts when you need them, if you have more than 1 available job opening then you've built too much

Or just spam neutron launcher battleships and a few carrier battleships. Carriers are so much better than point defense unless something's changed since I last played

discover stuff, have fun, once you get the hang of the game everything is "viable" in it
