The Dem gubernatorial candidate in my state is in danger of losing what should be an easy race, and all of her policy positions are basically "I'm gonna keep doing all the same shit that has brought us to this shitty point" which is so on brand for Dems

why is it the most important election ever? Because the “fascist” republicans might gain power? The ones that you “reach across the aisle” and placate to constantly, the ones you have shifted all your policies towards and caved to? I really don’t see why it’s that important to chose between a fascist and a fascist-adjacent collaborator with nearly identical policies. In fact, right now it seems to be the Dems who are the most in favor of WW3, increasing police funding, attacking China, arming fascists worldwide, rounding up homeless & continuing US imperialism.

Republicans are fascists but somehow democrats are not. Democrats just "aren't living up to their potential" or are "a bit disappointing" . It doesn't matter that democrats have headed the invasions of several countries and have bombed/drone-striked/sanctioned millions of people in other countries. In fact this is so unimportant the author doesn't even mention it! It doesn't matter that democrats are subservient to corporate donors, like republicans, and have propped up fascist states that are kind to capital, like republicans, they're different! This is because the democrats were nice enough to vulgarize and appropriate movements until they were semi-compatible with capitalist exploitation!
