His reasoning for carrying around balloon animals is why I keep first aid supplies and some basic tools and replacement parts on my getting around bike. Really recommend everybody have some sort of that going on.

Also man did my guy carry that interview

    He's just like me fr

But more seriously, yeah as someone who works in tech I feel this deeply. My day job does literally zero for society but I'm willing to ride the grift as long as I can

Part of the reason I keep my shitty job is that it physically produces something. Like, at the end of the day I made a whole bunch of stuff that will be used and enjoyed for years down the line. And when I see people enjoying it, it makes me happy.

For real this is so fucking surreal to watch, it has to be staged, it's too perfect

having worked IT support over the years, this guy seems like one of the many good ones I got to work with - just trying to help people and provide some mental / psychological support to often stressed and distraught people

I think that's probably the part of the job I really enjoyed, helping someone get past a roadblock or solve a problem that they had been banging their head against

the actual ticket tracking alienating stuff really sucks bad, but saving someone's project that they thought had been corrupted or whatever makes you feel like a super hero sometimes

and there's always the awkward downtime while you run updates or scans and such, so I'd often get to know folks over time via the small chats while waiting for some process to finish

they really should just call the position something like Tech Therapist
