This was a thread in response to a woman chasing down a skateboarder for grinding on a ledge, then sitting on the ledge so he wouldn't do it again. Imagine spending your time scolding and shaming people who aren't completely joyless because the property is in danger of some minor damage that no one will ever notice.

Oh yeah? Well what about when your class interests are completely opposite of what they are now? You come back here then and tell us how you feel!

For some reason this reminded me of an MR caller from a few months back scolding Bernie bros or something. He basically said that the youth just don't understand the world because they don't own property and don't pay a significant amount in taxes yet, they have "no skin in the game". Mfer, a lot of the "youth" are struggling with underemployment, lack of health insurance, huge amounts in outstanding loans, and a lack of affordable housing. They have a ton of skin in the game because these policies may well determine whether they have a roof over their heads in the near future. Just a completely absurd take from some random rich lawyer, like fuck off.

It's because they've never even thought about politics impacting something like their living situation, or their ability to afford healthcare. To them politics is purely about regulating the flow of their excess money, hence their fixation on taxes. The thought that something as basic as whether you have a home could be a matter of politics doesn't occur to them, because they actually have no skin in the game, only money.

You aren't paying attention to the only important metrics of money, wealth, capital, taxes, and gold.
