Trump: I won't call DeSantis "Meatball Ron" - POLITICO

Donald Trump on Saturday said he wouldn’t use the nickname “Meatball Ron” to describe Ron DeSantis, a likely rival for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024.

In a Truth Social post, the former president said it would be “inappropriate” to use the word “‘meatball’ as a moniker, which has been described as referring to DeSantis’ appearance and carries connotations to his Italian lineage.

Trump is bringing up the cutting of social security and Medicare before the democrats. Jesus these people are fucking useless.

Trump unlike the Democrats actually wants to win. The democrats are like a boxer paid to take a fall except the payment is campaign donations after the republicans do something awful

He's not intelligent, but he's clever. My dog is that way too and it works out very well for him

"RINO in disguise" is a bit redundant don't you think

one of my favorite characteristics of a trump missive is how they invariably accuse whatever he is up against as being unliked/unpopular with some kind of hyperbolic description. "poll numbers dropping like a rock" "ratings in the gutter" whereas of course all his own initiatives or products are loved/popular etc.

it's a great bit of marketing savvy that seems stupid as hell, but is wildly effective on people. nobody wants to miss out on the thing everybody loves and we all recoil at the thing everybody hates. usually, good marketing/advertising sort of infers one or the other, or maybe even provides some evidence of it.

not trump. he just throws it out there explicitly. "everybody hates my enemy! big loser!"

He already called him Meatball Ron once. Now it's out there and he doesn't even have to say it, and he can act like it's not his doing.

DeSatan is more acurate and succinct.

Also Trump is deliberately avoiding talking about the Wilks Brothers or the Federalist Society.

Hey man I'll say it Ron DeSanctimonious is great. A "C" nickname at first that becomes better every time he uses it. One Ron is Sanctimonious. So it works. Two it's so bad it's good. Idk meatball ron is also great.

desantis tried taking the "we should have a civil discussion" route which has never ended well for trump's opponents
