Trying to shame a group of people for simply existing is actually just vile and resentful hate and not a part of "civil debate"? Who woulda thunk it?

Does she not realize that she's acting exactly like the Dursleys she mocked before?

From what I remember of the later books, it seems like her primary problem with the Dursleys just became that they were fat.

Sean (the skull) has an unnecessarily long video where he goes through everything that sucks about Harry Potter basically

And yes, after listening to his extended list of examples it's hard to conclude otherwise.

There's a lot of stuff in those books that flew under the radar 20+years ago when I was reading them

Ugh, I guess that explains why Draco Malfoy was redeemed at the last minute. He was essentially one of the Dursleys, but it was okay because he was written to be conventionally attractive.

Sort of off-topic, but all of this reminds me of the time the UK media raised a stink about rightoids being called "gammons".

frothingfash: "Hey, the word gammon is elitist! Being a racist gammon is for the ugly poor people, so if you hate racism you hate poor people!"

I was talking about how JKR is now with my Mom (who literally read a couple of the books out loud to me as a kid and we even went to the Deathly Hallows midnight release together) and she said JKR is like the Dursleys now.
