Haha I guess you’re right. In Australia we have this weird thing where we absorbed the british English version of “chips” for fries but the American English version of “chips” for crisps/potato chips.
So we somehow ended up with chips meaning both potato chips/fries and so here you’ll often hear people order “hot chips” to differentiate what they’re asking for lol.
