His greatest failure was not living to 150 so he had time to flesh out the rest of Grundrisse like he did with Das Kapital

Luckily Hexbear's resident buzzword crank is pro degrowth and would likely call this person a PMC Karen. Hexbear stays winning.

BMF is, to my understanding, at least kinda well meaning despite being super alienating. It's kinda like imagining a person moshing to ABBA.

nah, hexbear isn't as cool as abba, and bmf's idiosyncratic style is hardly inapposite of general shit posting or sanctimoniousness that is hexbear bread and butter.

in fact, id say bmf is right much like the other posters, albeit much funnier/crazier/more talented.

I get the impression BMF is pretty well-read in leftist theory. I remember their usage of leftist terminology implied a good understanding of the meanings behind the words, even if they dial up the obscurantism for the sake of the bit.

Gaia worship? What does Gaia worship mean? Does he mean environmentalists? Because bro if you want to live on a dead planet I can shoot you into space if you really want... i mean...

They think environmentalism or any type of regulation to cut emissions or pollution is an afront to god given rights and free dumb. Recent coined term "Green Fascism".

It's a :libertarian-approaching: offshoot of "Taxes are Theft" forced by the barrel of a gun by the state. Regulation = Tax = :gulaged: and slavery.

Merge that with the projectionist "Science is a Religion" smear because science has been used to disprove dogmatic discrimatory laws.

It's hard to keep up with the terms which change seemingly every election cycle as new buzz word outrage to feed the :live-tucker-reaction: chud media.

To further align themselves with the talking points of reactionary think tanks funded by Texan oil barons, they also use "Malthusianism" as a dogwhistle for "queers are a satanic plot to destroy birth rates".

Isn't degrowth just "halting the drive for endless accumulation and growth, one of capitalism's core faults" anyhow?

usually it's the other way around, that for the west to now impose standards of "degrowth" on the over exploited/ underdeveloped rest of world for the sake of climate would hinder their development and contribute to maintenance of hegemony

      • DoubleShot [he/him]

I think it's the capitalists themselves that try and divert any energy behind degrowth away from themselves and towards what you describe. Like, degrowth is a mathematical necessity. As a species, we are using up resources at a very unsustainable rate. Degrowth coupled with global socialism can be equitable to the global south. But degrowth fundamentally breaks capitalism, so trying to do it while maintaining capitalism would indeed just maintain hegemony.

I've been thinking lately that these guys are an op to make the left turn away from countering malthusianism. Seen a heavy push of overpopulation bullshit appear in combination with their heavy push to make anyone against malthusianism look like a complete fucking idiot and it just feels extremely glowie to me.

It's just extremely weird to me that the left starts to pick up on countering overpopulation, eco fascism and the malthusianism presently being pushed by sections of the ruling class then suddenly the people with the worst optics in the fucking world are making it look like insane conspiracy world shit? They may as well be chanting LaLiLuLeLo.

        I don't buy that it's organic.

Let me rephrase my question because that really doesn't answer what I was asking.

I think it is 100% a creation of your particular media bubble

What is "it" that you are referring to here?

Not everything is a conspiracy. Unfortunately there's plenty and plenty of cranks/libs (depending on context) around the world who do the feds' work for them.

It just seems to me like an easy way to divert attention around a topic you don't want to pick up steam. All you have to do is make the opponents of that topic look like tinfoil hate wearing lunatics and then libs will associate the tinfoil hat wearers with all their pre-existing negative associations and dismiss.
