I am about to start a new 5e game and I am playing a paladin who is going to take the Oath of the Common Man. In lieu of a deity I wanted him to revere the combined spirit of past workers and common folk. Anyone who had died through exploitation and oppression. Right now I was just calling them the martyrs but was wondering you ya'll had any better names

The Dispossessed is such a home run imo. Even got me a little inspired and this popped out of my head lol

"The Calloused", a militant group acting on behalf of the Dispossed, past and present. Focusing more on the present and those in need, The Calloused have men and women from all walks of life willing to give everything for a better future. They know what is at stake, they protect their tender hearts in order to carry on.

miner background with a "we all just hit rock bottom together" type beat for solidarity of past miners. maybe ur god is the god of lost miners who guide the next generations of workers.

Miners in a lot of the Catholic world have specific Saints they look to for protection and intervention. Some of them also make sacrifices to Satan (like booze and cigarettes) because if you're going to go down in to a hot, deadly hole in thr ground full of toxic gasses where people are using explosives and the air is full of fine dust you want to be on good terms with the landlord.

Great "I don't necessarily like you, but given the circumstances we should be on friendly terms" energy
