The swedish right is overwhelmingly popular (and recruits from) the areas of Scania supposedly. The fact that Scania is also the area most similar to Denmark and in fact used to be a part of Denmark is often touted by swedish liberals / socdems who think that the right is icky for culture war reasons.

Denmark should apologize for allowing it's brainworms to spread like that.

Tbf i think that the explanation is mostly bullshit, and the problems of Scania being reactionary has way more to do with the limited amount of industry and heavy dominance of agriculture and the fact that the areas has been fought over so many times.

Danes are like the right wing uncle of Scandinavia. Finland also has it to a lesser extent, but their racism is more targetted towards their neighbours in Russia, while Denmark just hates anyone with non-porcelain skin who dares set foot in their country.

I vaguely remember a few years ago a moose swam to Denmark from Sweden and they mobilized the military and started building coastal defenses.

As long as the fightback is brought to the right, then that's a completely valid reason. Scania was also the single handedly most Nazi friendly part of Sweden during WW2 and our prime minister (who ZOMG! Appeased Nazis!) Was also Scanian.
