I mean ALL of it, not just cis-het normative stuff. If you're asexual or just want to be serious, it's annoying having things like "I wish Marx and Engels would rail me in a threesome! :pingu-horny: " stuff in the posts/comments. Just as annoying as having some hot blonde girl with big boobs shoved in your face.

looking forward to 20-30 years when, assuming society hasn't collapsed entirely, Gen Z has led us back to an era of sexual repression that would make the Victorians positively green with envy

If we banned x posting purely on the basis of it being annoying, there would be no posting left.

no. at best i guess they could use a spoiler tag but banning is silly. also all the horny shit here seems like a joke 75% of the time.

Setting up a site-wide ban on content that bothers you personally would be going over the line IMO. I'm a lesbian Marxist, but I'm not about to call for any straight or anarchist content to be outlawed y'know? And as someone else here pointed out, we have the NSFW tag that seems to be responsibly used.

probably not. first it would be a waste of moderator's time and labor, since there's wreckers and reactionaries on this website. second, threads are made up of multiple ongoing conversations that people are free to engage in, setting the tone as they go along. third, one thing is banning reactionary talking points or requesting that our users make use of content warnings, another entirely is to curate the entire website's conversations on personal preference.

taken together my overall experience is that i've read several 'serious' and informative comment threads, as well as many 'unserious' ones. they did not impede one another, even as they are freely shared. the news megathread is a prime example of it. people will occasionally discuss history, theory, politics, even as things cool down for weeks entire and people just chill.

Best use of site operator's time is to merge with lemmy and federate. Hexbear doesn't need to be everything for everyone. Someone else can operate a sex positive horny posting site who has the time and energy to moderate such a thing.

Meh I feel like it's pretty good considering allonormativity, and the fact that everyone uses the NSFW spoiler is great
