Its technically correct but I wouldn't phrase it as "exactly" when its not like an eerily even amount like if it was just flat out six months before 9/11.
Also, the finale of Debt of Honor except the pilot was Japanese. The idea is explored further in the sequel, Executive Orders where terrorists use hijacked commercial airliners to carry out attacks on prominent targets.
The "The Invisible Man" TV series episode "Behold the Beast" and "The Third Twin" by Ken Follett also explore the idea of using airliners as weapons.
