I never saw the need for downvotes tbh, you can always just ratio people. And being able to see downvotes was kind of annoying in the first place, maybe I’m just an overthinker but when I make a post, even if it gets 50 upvotes, I’ll always wonder what the 1 or 2 people that downvoted were thinking

Well extrapolating from the trans post, often they are wreckers.

For the record it was banning users who had a pattern of down voting trans posts, it took more than just a single down vote on a trans user

All else aside, why do internetsters insist on talking about bans like they're executions? Have they never gotten banned from anything before? God damn, I got banned from Ask.com (weirdly conservative site) as a kid for answering questions and even then I just thought it was funny

I got banned from reddit for saying "Death to America" under a post about a government official advocating for the eradication of trans people. Ofc, the reason was "Advocating for violence" like what the fuck. Do they think I'm going to go kill america?? reddit-logo

there's a pulsating fleshmass under dealey plaza. that's america's weak point. if you dodge its beam attacks and dive in with a flurry of slashes while deflecting the rockets, you should be able to whittle down its health bar.

        then the second phase begins

A couple years ago I said death to America on reddit once and a chud replied to me as if I were an ISIS terrorist planning something. He straight up told me had a gun by his bed and said something about protecting his family or something, like okay dude I’m American too.

i was pretty devastated when i got banned from a minecraft server when i was 13, but i lost buildings and resources, and i was invested in the servers plugins that were heavy w RPG elements. what do you lose when getting banned from a reddit alternative? ur post history? pathetic

Oh yeah that's fair. When I was around that age, I got pretty salty that a small MMO (40ish players) I loved tempbanned me for using CheatEngine. Sure, that sounds bad

But I learned on that day that if you leave an MMO running in the background all the time because you chat on it, you should definitely close it before opening CheatEngine to mess with flash games

I’ve been banned twice, once for posting Trump deepfake porn around the time we were first starting as chapo chat. I was 17 at the time and more of an edgelord

The other time was around when we had a chud wrecker making posts defending ivermectin, made an alt to join in because I thought it was funny

I definitely deserved the bans I got, but those sites i owned with xss attacks (not this one, im innocent! im talking 20 years ago) deserved it for banning me. Also because it was funny.

I wish you had hit Ask. What kind of question site has the rule, "Don't say anything you wouldn't say to your grandma" and then refuses to accept FACTS and LOGIC when I tell them that if my grandma asked me what the "F-word" meant, I would tell her

Tbh I think Quora might be the worst one yet, but I'm biased.

I've never been able to take it seriously, because my first introduction to it was on the app Opinionaided (later Thumb), where another user told me I seemed like "a fellow intellectual" and wondered whether "a more serious platform such as Quora might be of interest" to me. I have never felt more fucking owned

Quora is so shit. A shadow of the greatness of yahoo answers, where a simple search for "ghosts" or "aliens" could provide all the content you could ever want. All the finest derangement the internet had to offer in one place.

SAME and I usually reply and forget to actually do the upvote part. My reply is my upvote and it's more valuable because I did posting labor to produce it

Yeah... good. The issue was mfs were down voting literally pro trans posts left and right. That shit happens on every trans subreddit and it's gross and sucks. Glad that doesn't happen here

auto-banned anyone who ever downvoted a trans user

They make it sound like people were banned for downvoting a random political take they disagreed with because the poster behind that take happened to be trans. The posts they downvoted were specifically trans pride posts or posts about the trans experience, not outdoor cat struggle sessions posted by a trans person. Also I think you had three strikes or something
