It's all about the numbers. Lots of advertisements make me hate the product and I feel compelled to go out of my way to avoid buying it after that out of spite, but for every one of me there's a lot more of someone that will buy in instead.

parents babysit their single digit age kids with tablets and smartphones and they click whatever looks interesting, not yet aware (maybe) of how insincere and profit driven everything is. Doesn't help that these clickbait youtubers often have sweetheart advertising deals and get pushed to the top of the algorithm so that a fresh account with no history gets it shoved in their face right away. Who has the freshest accounts? Kids.
