    Libs

When RGB died: Our dear guardian of democracy has died. We must fight Trump's nominee to the bitter end.

Trump nominates a woman to replace RGB: Ah, well we wouldn't want to be too nasty to her because she is a queen after all.

I am so damn tired of the whole "they go low, we go high" identity politics bullshit lib shit. I live in a very red part of a red state and have managed to join a few groups that are at least lib out here to try to spread some revolutionary love, but the amount of RGB crying and give peace a chance bullshit and let's all be good people and appeal to GOP humanity is killing me slowly. Please god can we just blow it all up and start over?

So, in order we have gone:

-Vote for Biden so he can appoint new SC Justice

-Protest Trump/McConnell filling vacancy left by Ginsburg's hubris, say they won't have the votes

      -Court Republican 'decency'

-Lose that battle immediately, for the 600th consecutive time

      -Stop protesting the SC nominee

-Saying 'well this woman isn't great, but she's not Tom Cotton at least'

-Saying 'well we won't be too mean to her in the hearings even though every Republican that would have been involved in Dem judge hearings would have insinuated that the Dem nominee is a communist sociopath'

This kind of pathetic shit was certainly a factor in me going left, but damn is it ridiculous to keep seeing play out.

There are no less than 7 comic artists kicking themselves for not thinking of this "gotcha" between the death of RGB and now.

You want to oppose me BUT you would also have to oppose a woman!

Thing about Trump, though, is he's both a master manipulator, and an incompetent brainworm infested idiot.

He's not a genius, he's not playing 4d chess, but he's been raised his whole life to figure people out and abuse it to his gain. I mean, that, combined with his wealth, mostly his wealth, but the manipulation too, is why he's "successful" because his actual business acumen is nonexistent.

So, he knows how to rile up reactionaries, trick the MSM into giving him a free platform, "win" debates by dominating it with facile lies, lean into his ridiculousness, entice Biden to appeal to the right, pull a stunt to distract from serious issues, etc.

He knows how to do this because it's second nature to him. It's a reflex. He's been doing it his whole life.

It's quite simple: Dems want the Republicans to get whatever they ask for... because the Dems are being paid to lose.

I've always believed this from their stance on gun control, as far back as I've been even remotely politically aware.

"Hey, white militias prepping for race war have all the guns. You know what we should do, make sure nobody else can buy them--that'll show the racists!" --It just makes absolutely no logical sense

It's actually complete fucking trash that anyone trusts the dems, especially POC. They're dangerous and evil, MORESO than the right wing (because with the right you know what you're dealing with).

Democrats have always been a fifth column. The entire base is foolish but well-meaning people who've been hoodwinked into support because they just haven't done enough research

It’s actually complete fucking trash that anyone trusts the dems, especially POC. They’re dangerous and evil, MORESO than the right wing (because with the right you know what you’re dealing with).

The 60s bought a lot of Dem goodwill among black voters, that's why there's such a stark generational divide among black voters. It's gotten so bad that young black voters are actually more likely to support Trump than older black voters. That's just such a massive fuck up from Dems. They haven't done a thing for anyone except wealthy suburbanites.

I'm sure this strategy is aimed at not eating into Biden's gains with white suburban voters, but it's such a massive liability. Republicans can run ads saying 'Dems don't care about reproductive rights, so why vote?' and if Dems criticize the psycho Catholic lady they can run ads saying 'Dems are the real sexists'.

Dems are far more afraid of the latter, or at least that's their justification for not fighting. I don't think they care. If you're rich you can always get an abortion.

They haven’t done a thing for anyone except wealthy suburbanites.

Funny too because up until very recently the DNC's long-term strategy was to rely on young people, hispanic voters, and black voters to lead them to victory. They've now alienated each of these groups in different ways all in pursuit of a demographic that is only shrinking and waning in influence. And no, the strategy of "well who else are they gonna vote for" won't work, either.

[Insert Marx quote about surrendering guns here]

The only argument to ever be made in favor of gun control would be in an actual existing communist country, and even then it would be after having dealt with all the reactionary elements.

It's very unbecoming to be nasty to an accomplished woman. Now an unaccomplished woman? That's fair game.
