Friends just north of Tampa couldn't evacuate until last night because their remote job working for the state requires a specific geolinked terminal and they aren't being given time off. I remember their house being indistinguishable from sea level and within a short drive of it. Now the roads out are packed with 150% normal traffic and there are fuel shortages along the evacuation routes.

Your government does not care about you, G.I. They leave you here to die.

They will give you a ceremony, G.I., but only after you are dead.

Cuz who cares if the poor people die right. Im glad i live in an area that doesnt get storms like this cuz i cant even fucking drive what am i gonna do walk?! Hope theres room on a greyhound?? Its so dumb just use the giant military boats yall have and evacuate people! And then the media acts like the poor people who dont leave are just stubborn and or stupid and almost implies they deserve to die.

Ya sorry all our boats are busy bombing a country that seems more or less impervious to our bombs from a military perspective. But think about it like this.... Not only are our bombs killing civilians over there they now get to indirectly kill civilians at home too! Two for one! That's savings in the bank

Why do people on this site keep saying, without checking, that there are no resources available whatsoever to help people get out of evac zones? Making claims like this without checking first could get people fucking killed. Do better.

There are government resources available to help people evacuate. I actually made a thread that lists some resources including for the county that Tampa is part of: https://hexbear.net/post/3632288
