millennials were the adhd generation. Now you spend the entire game farming/camping/walking and you listen to lofi music where nothing excciting actually happens
Maybe ADHD is the result of having a "pre-internet" brain meet information wealth, while gen Z grew up and mentally adapted with it idk
listening to melancholic lo fi hip hop beats while gathering resources pointlessly because you're just going to get merced before using it and do it all over again from the beginning 20 mins later really is the zeitgeist of this generation
I tried it and I absolutely can't stand the pace. Each match lasts about 30 rounds too many, like it's a shooter, in most matches, chances are one team is simply going to be clearly better than the other, and this becomes apparent maybe 3-4 rounds in. Why the match continues for 25 minutes after that point I cannot wrap my head around. It's dreadfully dull regardless of which side you're on, because fighting someone you cannot win against and fighting someone who cannot win against you are both equally boring.
I'm sure if you're playing it as a proper competitive game with a full team who knows one another on comms against another organized team in similar circumstances, then it'd be fun. It seems like that's what the game is designed for. But I don't see how it has any value as a casual game, and ironically that gives it little chance to ever gather enough players for a proper competitive scene.
Dude DOTA 2 , LOL, CSGO, Pubg these are all the most popular games ever and most of the time you spend in these games is farming/waiting. It makes the actual action more exciting and impactful. Play deathmatch and see how long you can enjoy that.
In Dota you can be successful with a very active/aggressive style. The winners of last TI basically spent the tournament running at their opponents and nobody could deal with it. Every other super popular competitive game or 'competitive' in the case of BR games is boring shit.
