Campaigns are at the stage where they are trying to reach out to people they believe are likely dem voters, encouraging them to early vote or make a vote plan. Make sure you are continuing to waste their time and money by remaining on their call/contact lists. This means they'll keep using campaign resources to try to get an answer from you.

I know it is tempting to text back STOP to make all the George Clooney texts stop, but try to hold the line!

Because they are exploiting a spam / harassment loophole they wrote in the law for their campaign bullshit and you can bully / tell campaign texters exactly how you feel / fuck off genocider using the same loophole.

there's a weird current here where people care so much about not voting for Kamala that they will actively go out of their way to engage in weird roundabout electoralism and cut off their noses to spite their faces, and I just don't get it. if you think voting doesn't matter, don't put so much energy into the voting system

both-sides I think people should be free to choose how much energy they put into this

If anyone wants to troll the democrats and waste their resources, that's alright with me

don't put so much energy into the voting system

simply not responding to a text message doesn't take much of my energy. we can have a little election trolling...as a treat

Does someone have to read them? I remember during the Bernie campaign it was like, kinda automated but ultimately a human had to sit there and read your messages and decide how/if to respond

I always respond with something ranging from “Ceasefire now” to “I will only vote for Kamala if she declares war on the Nazi state of Israel and bombs Tel Aviv”

they don't see your image they just see a line like [image] and then guess based on context that you're not interested.

Yes they do. I did phone banking and texting for Bernie in 2016

Jfc that was 8 years ago. Twice aas long as this site has existed.

It has been 23 years since second-plane

I asked the guy texting me to just be honest and admit to supporting genocide before asking me again for my vote

Also sent him some videos of dead kids in Gaza with the text "this is what you support"

They haven't gotten back to me lately

For a while I was agreeing to door-knockings and then reneging on the last second. Praxis. Admittedly my frustration got to me yesterday and I finally just told them I'm voting PSL .

wow have people gotten so touchy about doorknocking that they schedule it in advance with permission now?

Not that it was all sunshine and roses pre-pandemic but dang

I try to demoralize the texters so their outreach is limited. Only during work breaks when there is nothing more constructive to do.

Oddly, I have gotten very few human texters, or even bots, this time.

It's mostly just messages blasted out with donation link.
