    Under normal circumstances I would agree, and there's a lot they can do re fixing the military to prevent this from happening again, but any sort of attempt to destroy the opposition will only hurt the bolivian left over the long term.

    The regions of the country with the most natural resources are the ones that supported Mesa the most. The US tried to get the country to split in 2 in 2008, and further suppression of opposition would make such efforts more successful.

      I left it vague on purpose. I don't know what the necessary things are but I very much hope MAS/Bolivian comrades take this seriously and take aggressive action - whatever that theoretically correct course of action actually is.

        Yeah of course, and they absolutely know the things I'm saying. I only know this stuff because I know some spanish and have been following their politics closely even before the coup. I just don't want western leftists to be like, Luis Arce is fucking up and screwing over Evo when he doesn't just immediately purge everyone.
