Fellow biology doctoral student here, this is tangentially related to my thesis, where i study biomes around the Arctic circle. You should probably be informed that i've just returned from a field study that produced very worrying results. We originally set out to research the wildlife around an abandoned bunker, but didn't come across a single living animal in the entire area - everything we found had recently been killed by what appears to be a chokehold with a pincer-like organ. I know how far-fetched this sounds, but it seems that all these animals fell victim to a roughly human-sized crustacean. Please be careful out there!
